Romans vs Britons

This original strategy game plays out an ambush of a small troop of Roman soldiers marching along a Roman road sometime in the mid first century AD. They are in a valley when they spot fearsome Britons coming down from the surrounding hills.

Leather board and wooden gaming pieces. A game for two players.

• The game starts as Britons charge down from the hillsides; Roman soldiers repel their attack
• All men can move freely on the board, but must co-ordinate their moves, as two men are needed to capture an enemy warrior
• Players  must guard against their pieces becoming separated from their companions, where they are more vulnerable to capture
• However, beware the commanders and chiefs, as they can capture multiple pieces, bringing down a warrior and any number of his neighbouring companions
• An outright victory is won when one player eliminates all their opponent's pieces
